Spring break + trash talk ride along

meant to meet trash talk (a band i used to play in- http://www.myspace.com/trashtalkfu ) but due to Swiss / Italian (switalian) people saying "si, si" even though they apparently couldnt understand my italian, i went down the wrong path on two occasions while getting to the airport.

missed the flight, so after a little while in milan i took a train to Verona (northern italy) and hung out there for the day until my overnight train to munich. in munich i met up with a friend living there that i had stayed with through couchsurfing a few years back. met trash talk for some fun shows... said goodbye in northern switzerland and crashed at a guys place in zurich (he books a lot of the hardcore / punk shows in the city). spent most of the next day hitchhiking home, going south is a lot harder than going north so it took me a while...

milan train station

it was easter so there was a lot of outdoors stuff going on. this is in verona

there is a tunnel type area through a building that leads to the courtyard of the Capulet's house (one of the two families in Romeo and Juliet). the walls in the tunnel are covered in love notes.

the courtyard

her balcony (there may be some dispute over the balcony scene's accuracy; however, this is the actual Capulet house that dates back to the 13th century)

romeo's view?

waiting for my train

this is how i spent a lit of my evenings when i was traveling in europe before

i met a local couple my age and got some dinner and hung out with them till my train came and they drove me to the station. nice people in the world...

Michael is an awesome couchsurfer i stayed with a few years ago. this time some of the guys on tour also crashed at his place.

scary dudes

a band also on the tour called Throats, from the UK

one of the venues used the buildings bomb shelter as a "back stage" for the bands

bands from back home toured through the same venue

a small lake close to my house
nothing like walking home with some earphones in on a warm day in late winter after an awesome trip...
